Today we continued to learn about proportions, explored realistic shading, and played with symbolic image-making!

Left, Jason helps Mr. K review proportions by placing the eyes in their proper place on a head. Jason correctly places them halfway down the head, not higher up as many "beginner artists" are wont to do. Banan volunteers to show Mr. K some common places where shadows fall on a face. Then she asks for advice on her self-portrait. She widens her lips and adds her own shadows to the corners of her mouth so it "doesn't look like [she's] frowning anymore."



Mr. K enjoys a moment of play...
